Vietnam 1963-1972

In this period the United States of America, along with other Free World Countries committed troops to South Vietnam,to assist this Republic in its fight against the Viet Cong (VC),and, from direct agression from North Vietnam Forces (NVF)

Although, only Regular Army Units were sent to Vietnam, many of which almost 50% were National Service conscripts ,the opportunity was given for selected members of the Citizen Military Force (CMF) to volunteer for active service in South Vietnam (SVN)

Also during this time four Warrant Officer Class One(WO1), and six Sergeants (Sgts) from the Australian Regular Army (ARA) cadre of 1st Field Ambulance served in both combat and non combat Units in SVN
